Creative Afternoons for Kids in San Francisco | SoliaVenture

I’ve been in a big paper phase lately.

Not the kind where you fold one thing and you’re done. The kind where you sit down and know you’re going to be there for a while… drawing, cutting, gluing, and making tiny worlds out of paper.

I made things like wall art, a Toca Boca activity book, a duck squishy interactive book, and paper characters you can dress up. I love making them so much that I completely lose track of time once I start.

You can click on some of the pictures to see short videos.

Also — I should say this: I didn’t invent all of these ideas from scratch. I get inspired by things I see online and then try to make them myself. And I think that’s okay. Copying is part of learning. It’s how we figure out how things are made, what works, and what we enjoy creating most.

My favorite part is showing my creations to my family.
And that’s when something shifted.

When my older sister Léna saw them, she said she would have loved something like that when she was a little girl. I didn’t expect her to be so excited about them.

This is one she really liked. It’s actually made on cardboard, so you can hang it on the wall too.

And one of my videos about the duck squishy book got over 10,000 views on YouTube, which made me feel like other people like this too.

That’s when I had an idea.

What if this wasn’t just something I made for fun… but something I could share?

So this June, I’m hosting 3 afternoons in San Francisco for a small group of kids who want to come make their own paper creations with me.
